I don't think he was necessarily talking about the profession skill if your creative enough to find a way that will make money without a given profession there's no reason not to he's just asking what we will be doing during any down time that comes up so we can more easily progress though periods of said downtime

Shape breath is a useless prerequisite as far as I`m concerned. True, I can use it to shape my cone breath into a line, however it does nothing for my blinding burst form of breath weapon. Spreading Breath will reduce the radius so I`m less likely to hit an ally, however It`s also a prerequisite feat. I intend on taking Extend spreading breath as the next feat I get ahold of.

The idea is to figure out what everyone's role will be by identifying strengths and weaknesses.
Pushaw will likely try and sneak in with his +10 hide then when the time is right, massive AOE nuke with a very high save dc that will permanently debilitate his foes. Jay, with her feat selection, appears to be a long range healer with a nice temporary AC buff. Josh appears, no matter which character he chooses, to be small and sneaky. His druid might cast spells or be a summoner, hard to tell. I can't tell what you're gonna do with the copper dragon.
Yes, the 9-5 ,while can be a profession and you could add ranks to it, is mostly there for what to do during down-time and surprise impromptu quests.
Is anybody planning on building a living quarters for the party or will you use the established ones which consist of practically nothing. It's a free 1k gold to use to buy random items for your room. Never know when that mirror hanging up in your room might help.

I will design my part of a living quarters but I don't see it costing more then 250 gold for any of my characters

You can't? My feats should tell you. I'm going to attack like Sengir and kick up dust to disturb the spellcasters. I'm going to fly fast and deliver messages and scout out the battlefield. I'm going to do other stuff that I'm not going to give you advance notice of so you can build encounters around thwarting my tactics I won't know in advance because I'm flexible and versatile. I'm going to sleep at the foot of Loneshadow's PC's bed until I'm too big to fit in his room. Then I'll need to build my own quarters, and he can sleep at the foot of my bed. Unless he'd rather I design my own room... here are some things I think should be in his quarters, for his pet/partner dragon: Animal bed with metal cloth A carpet of hard-wearing fabric or woven tree branches Walls of stone Maybe a fountain A full-length mirror Some nice framed artworks If the room is on the perimeter of the building, a secret door leading to a ledge where I can take off Perhaps a couple of dragon statues A table where we can take our meals and plan strategies A stool for me and whatever kind of seat my trainer wants If space permits, a tub An armoire for our equipment and my hoard Various brushes and other tools for maintaining my hide and claws and teeth Pull-down map scrolls of the surrounding area Possibly a tripod and brazier for pleasant spices or soothing herbs/oils An hourglass A magnifying glass and a jeweler's loupe And a small tree in a pot with the word "Arthur" written on the side. How does that sound?

For my room, or part there of: Cleaning brushes and picks (Don`t know their value) Wall mounted mirror (About 5 times the size of a small mirror, 100gp) w/mage hand 1/day (200gp) 10 Common Hides (for a bed, Assuming high price for cow hides 50gp)
Edit: Am I right in assuming that the 1k is to be split between the trainer and dragon?

Yeah. Dragon wasn't even a wyrmling at this time. It will all be explained first session. What kind of picks? Tooth picks, mining picks, fence picks? Skrey has got a pretty well thought out living quarters, he included a tub to bath in. Just remember you guys are squeezing into about a 64 tile (1600sqft) room. The basic room I got consists of 1 common area with a fireplace and an open window and a side room with 2 beds 2 chest of drawers with little indentations in the floor shaped like a bowl for the dragons. It's sweet you guys wanted actual bedding for your dragon. Maybe when they grow up, they won't hate you for making them sleep on the cold, hard floor. Few Suggestions: If you guys wanted light, you might want to also purchase either an EBT or more candles. If you want privacy, separate rooms with doors and chests both with locks. Later on, you might consider acid proofing the place so you can use your breath weapon indoors. A clock is always nifty. Alarm clock if you can afford to alarm 1/day If you don't want to clean the place up, unseen servant 1/day. Lincoln included seating, maybe seating for any guests you might get? A fountain is nice, create water 2-3/day to have something to drink inside your room. Most of these items cost <500 gp and assuming both humans have 0 ranks in their profession and 10 int, could make just over 1000gp total in this time. Potted plant is nice, druid can use entangle spells and stuff whilst inside a stone mountain.

Everyone, my name is Skreyola. We can take one of the beds out... not sure why the academy would put two human beds in the quarters of a humanoid/dragon team. And dragons don't wear clothes, so only one chest of drawers is needed. The dragons need an armoire for their nacent hoards. As to *-proofing, I figure the academy should have different sections for different dragon types, so that their drool doesn't damage the rooms. Nobody's going to be entertaining in an 8x8 room. That's why academies and such have common areas. Any guests to quarters would be the variety that doesn't necessarily need seating. If we did what you suggest, we'd be throwing money around for all these magical extravagancies. When I said stone walls, I meant not wood paneling or whatever. The wall surfaces need to be stone. But I figure the academy built with stone, so that may not be important. Animal bed: 2g (It's basically just a sturdy box) The fountain would take up too much space, so no fountain No idea how much a secret launch door should cost Hourglass: 25g Merchant's Scale: 2g The jeweler's loupe is 20gp (AEG22) Oh, and the tub probably won't fit, so we'll use the common bathing facilities. 29 - 5 = 24gp for my part *sigh* You're all too young to get the joke with the potted plant. I feel old.

You need to get a better name. Jay, Josh, and Noob are all simple to type on the keyboard and Pushaw is... Pushaw. Nobody knows him by David.
It's all about the luxury you want to live in but I highly suggest Josh take some of your ideas and implement them.
I'm adding that the copper dragon openly pretends to be a super hero. Who else has a "secret" launch door inside of a cave with a bat in it?

Then try Stan/Stanley. I'm not buying this garbage about easier to type. It was harder to type what you called me. I'll make it easier for you. I'm the only one here who starts with S, so you can just call me S or Ess. Hahah! I'll even answer to Hat Guy. Okay, but I'm not RPing it. It should be a secret door so our quarters aren't open to entrance from the outside, and it should lead onto a ledge where I can take flight so I can leave on quests faster... of course, if the room isn't on the outside of the structure, this is a moot point, and I won't have a secret escape hatch. It would be cool to have a fountain on one wall. Visitors to the room would take a -4 penalty to listen checks, but my trainer and I wouldn't, because just as you don't hear your refrigerator after the first week, we would have learned to tune out the sound of the water... but it would foil many eavesdropping attempts, too. When the academy wants me, they should cast arcane mark on the clouds in the shape of a winged creature.

Another problem is that I've known you for 3+ years under that name... Try casual talking to somebody you've known under a certain name for that long then start calling them something else. You purposefully have to stop and think and correct yourself.
Whoa man, you totally would be RPing it. Every time you need to leave, you'd run and jump through the escape hatch...

I've got it we have an open window in the room that the mirror blocks and on the backside of the mirror would be a waterproof skin of some sort that is designed to look like the bricks that make up the rest of the building around it thus for quick/secret exit just move the mirror and jump out the window to begin flying!
